My stay at the Apollo Hotel Amsterdam had its ups and downs. The location was fantastic, just steps away from the canal and close to the Rijksmuseum, which made exploring the city a breeze. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. The carpet had stains and there was a bit of dust on the furniture. On the brighter side, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was cozy but a bit cramped. It had a comfortable bed and decent amenities, though I would have preferred a larger space to open my suitcase. Overall, it was clean but could use some deep cleaning, especially the carpets.
Service
8.0
The staff were genuinely warm and helpful. I really appreciated their assistance, especially with local guidance and tips for exploring the area.
Location
9.0
The hotel is conveniently located near the canal and various attractions. I loved that it was just a short walk to the Rijksmuseum and offered easy access to public transport for further adventures in the city. It's in a lovely green area too.
Dining
7.0
I had a pleasant experience with the buffet breakfast, which was generous and included a variety of choices. However, I found the offerings in the hotel restaurant a bit pricey and lacking in options, especially late at night.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were decent with a cozy atmosphere. I enjoyed the lounge areas for relaxation, but I did notice that some amenities could use improvements to enhance the experience.

5.4/10

I had a decent stay at Apollo Hotel Amsterdam, but there were a few bumps along the way. While the cleanliness and the character of the rooms were impressive, I faced significant issues with the service. The staff were not as attentive as I had hoped, particularly at the restaurant, which was disappointing given the good quality of the food. Overall, my experience was mixed, with great potential yet some noticeable shortcomings.

Rooms
5.0
My room was well-designed and clean, but I ended up in a dingy spot without the promised harbour view. This was frustrating as I relied on the hotel’s marketing.
Service
5.0
The service was lackluster, especially in the restaurant where staff were inattentive during my meals. This significantly marred my experience despite my attempts to provide constructive feedback.
Location
8.0
The hotel is situated in a quaint area that's a bit further from the city center, yet it was convenient enough for me to explore nearby neighborhoods and attractions easily.
Dining
5.0
I found the restaurant’s food quality to be high, but honestly, the prices felt unjustifiable. It was unfortunate my dining experience was impacted by subpar service.
Facilities

I appreciated the quick check-in process and the high cleanliness standards throughout the hotel, though I encountered a leak issue in my room which was concerning.

5.8/10

My stay at the Apollo Hotel Amsterdam was a mix of highs and lows. The renovated rooms were lovely, especially with the canal views, and I appreciated the varied breakfast buffet. However, the service was quite lackluster, with some staff seemingly indifferent to my needs, which detracted from the experience. Additionally, the location was further from the city center than I'd have liked, making excursions a bit lengthy.

Rooms
7.0
I stayed in a room that faced the canal, which had a beautiful view. The room was clean and spacious enough, though it did show some signs of wear, especially in the bathroom.
Service
5.0
Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The check-in process was frustratingly slow, and staff seemed disengaged, which made requests feel like a burden rather than a priority.
Location
6.0
While the location was quiet and peaceful, it was a bit outside the main sights of Amsterdam, requiring a longer walk or a quick train ride to get to the heart of the city.
Dining
5.0
I tried the hotel restaurant a few times, but I found the food quite overpriced and often uninspiring. The breakfast was decent, but overall, I didn't have a strong impression of the dining options.
Facilities
6.0
The amenities were limited; while there was a bar and cafe, the atmosphere felt somewhat dull, lacking the vibrant environment I expected.

My stay at Apollo Hotel Amsterdam was quite enjoyable, especially with the beautiful canal views from my upgraded suite. The room was clean and spacious, making for a comfortable retreat. However, I did find the restaurant dining prices to be on the higher side, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a relaxing and conveniently located hotel that I'd be happy to return to.

Rooms

I was upgraded to a suite with a canal view, which was spacious, clean, and modern. The interior design really impressed me, though I noticed a couple of chairs with stains, which was off-putting.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, really making an effort to ensure my stay was pleasant. Patrick at check-in was especially nice with his hospitality and attention to detail.
Location

The hotel's location was perfect, being within walking distance to the Museum Quarter and other attractions. I enjoyed the scenic walks along the canal, with easy access to public transport.
Dining
6.0
While breakfast was good and had a good variety, I found the dinner options in the hotel's restaurant to be overpriced and not living up to expectations. It's best to explore nearby dining options for better value.
Facilities

I appreciated the well-maintained amenities, including the bar where I enjoyed a fantastic cocktail crafted by the bartender. However, I did miss having a coffee machine in the room, and some aspects of room service could be improved.

I had a lovely stay at the Apollo Hotel, enjoying the unique decor and friendly staff. The hotel is conveniently located and offers a peaceful atmosphere away from the main tourist areas. However, my room had a dim lighting issue, and the bathroom arrangement could have been more user-friendly. Despite these drawbacks, the overall experience was positive.

Rooms
8.0
The room was spacious and nicely designed, though the lighting was dim. The amenities were good, but the bathroom layout could have been better.
Service
9.0
The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, making me feel comfortable throughout my stay. They provided valuable insights about the city, which enhanced my experience.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is ideal, with easy access to public transport and major attractions without being in the hustle and bustle of tourist crowds.
Dining
7.0
While I didn't dine in the restaurant, the breakfast buffet reportedly had a great variety, and the lounge area was cozy and inviting. However, some dining options in the area seemed overpriced.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel offered a well-equipped gym, which is hard to find in Amsterdam. It also had nice outdoor areas for relaxation, adding to the overall charm.
